Thistles, Glyphs and Ciphers

(2017 - ongoing)

WHAT SHOULD I BE SEEING?

(a)

Visualize a transitional likeness of the natural world – neither landscape nor still life, but information – in which each picture-building component is a signifier.

(b)

Categories and schematics take over, as each picture edges away from the particular and tilts toward a set of circumstances.

(c)

If this exercise in splitting the difference between thinking and seeing is to be genuine and successful, it must begin by establishing the connection between sign and sensation, and this connection must persist.

(d)

It’s worth remembering that it serves no useful purpose to deconstruct what Beauty is, unless you’d like to get rid of it.
